The 2005 edition of the Apollo yearbook, “Forging,” received superior reviews. “Forging” was awarded with many esteemed honors last year including a Bronze Medal awarded from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The Southern Interscholastic Press Association awarded last year’s book with an “All-Southern” rating. “All- Southern” is the highest evaluation rating, only given to publications that display overall excellence. The American Scholastic Press Association awarded “Forging” with first place and recognized the book for the Best Theme Development. The Virginia High School League awarded “Forging” with another first place award. Congratulations to the 2005 yearbook staff and editors! All of your hard work was more than worth it. The 2006 staff is hard at work on this year’s book. The staff started their theme development this summer at the Gettysburg Yearbook Camp Experience, where Co-Design Editor Courtney Banks received an award for Excellence in Design. The staff took great care in creating an amazing theme but it is top secret until yearbook distribution in the spring. The easiest way to find out this year’s top secret theme is to simply buy a yearbook!

The 2004 Apollo yearbook, “If Walls Could Talk,” received much recognition and acclaim. The Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) awarded Bronze Medal 2004; the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) awarded Outstanding Theme 2004. Furthermore, the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) gave the book First Class with one Mark of Distinction 2004, and the Virginia High School League (VHSL) awarded it Second Place 2004. Congratulations to the 2003-2004 Apollo yearbook staff for their hard work and excellence! In addition, the 2005 Apollo yearbook staff has already brought home one award for this year’s book. In July, at the Gettysburg Yearbook Camp Experience, the concept “Forging” received the GYE Excellence in Theme Development 2004 award.
